| OUR STORY:
Crispina ffrench founded the company in 1987 while studying fine art at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Her single-product-company got her through college without a student loan, save heavily callused digits acquired constructing countless Ragamuffins™. Twenty years later the company has morphed and transitioned while we continue to construct these soft sculptural 'toys' as well as a gamut of other domestically hand-produced items ranging from one of a kind clothing to room sized Pot Holder Rugs™. Crispina, now a part of a larger business called Fuchsia, Inc., is a wholesale manufacturing company supplying a growing network of stores near and wide. One of those stores is our very own little shop called Fuchsia Home, located in Lenox, just a hop, skip and a jump south of the studio – which is in located in the basement of the former Norte Dame Church of Pittsfield, MA.
All of us, in the studio and at the store, work together as a team sharing the day to day responsibilities that make the company prosper. We are committed to an employee friendly work environment, and creating beautiful high quality merchandise completely from discarded materials. It is our objective to have fun and make money by offering consciousness and beauty, turning secondhand stuff into funktional heirlooms with wholehearted compassion, inventiveness, mindful consumption and reuse. |
